This class is combination of Yin Yoga and Core work. Julie infuses her class with longer-held postures to give you the opportunity to unwind and release tension in the body. She incorporates meditations on the body and breath and balances out the Yin practice with more Yang (muscular work) sequences to strengthen the core and upper body. Students tend to leave class feeling stronger, more relaxed, and with an greater sense of well-being.
This class is suitable for all levels and can be wonderful bridge to a meditative practice.
Yin Yoga is a deeply relaxing practice that targets the connective tissue, including ligaments, bones and even the joints of the body that are not exercised in a more active style of asana practice. Suitable for all levels, Yin yoga is a perfect complement to the dynamic and muscular Yang styles of yoga that emphasize internal heat and the lengthening and contracting of our muscles. In this class, your body is supported with a variety of props as you release into long holds of passive postures. The practice is extremely effective at opening the body, especially the connective tissues of the hips, pelvis and lower spine.
